Plasma Pen (Fibroblasting)

What can be treated with the Plasma Pen?

  • Non-surgical blepharoplasty – the skin tightening of saggy upper and lower eyelids
  • Unwanted wrinkles on face – frown lines, crow’s feet, smoker’s lines, neck lines, etc.
  • Crepe skin and wrinkles on the body – abdomen, neck, thighs, arms
  • Skin lesions such as moles, skin tags, fibromas, warts, seborrheic keratosis
  • Additional benefits can include reduction of skin pigmentation, age spots on face or hands, sun spots, melasma, and freckles

How does the treatment work?

Fibroblasting is a controlled delivery of plasma to the epidermis that results in contraction and tightening of skin fibers. This targeting of the fibroblasts initiates our bodies very own, natural wound healing response which stimulates accelerated collagen production, tightening of the tissue and a release of growth factors. This results in skin lifting and overall rejuvenation.

Is Plasma Pen fibroblast treatment safe and does it hurt?

Local anesthetic cream is applied for 30 minutes prior to treatment to minimize any discomfort. In some instances minor discomfort is noted. Following treatment, the area may feel hot in places with a mild burning sensation. This typically subsides a few hours post procedurally. The area may weep and bleed slightly. Because the plasma gas is focalized and controlled, there is no tissue damage to surrounding areas and it is completely safe to be administered to people with light and medium skin color.

Is there any downtime?

The typical downtime is 1 week. The tiny carbon dots will shed naturally in 5-7 days, depending on the individual’s healing rate. Swelling is noticeable in the first few days as well. To maximize the effects of your treatment it is advised to keep the crustations intact for the length of time before they dispel naturally. We ask that you keep the treated area clean, moisturized and protected with a broad spectrum sunscreen. We will send home a post procedure kit.

When will I see results?

Reduction in wrinkles typically appear immediately, with the full effect taking place around 3 months. Final results after Plasma Pen treatment depend on the severity of skin laxity or size of lesion, the desired results, the general condition of the skin and any pre-existing skin or medical problems.

How long do results last?

Most people see significant wrinkle reduction for approximately 3 years.

How much does it cost?

The cost is dependent upon the size of the area treated, but on average is roughly $400-$500 -- that’s less than most filler injections, with results lasting 2-3 times longer!
