Vampire (PRP) Facelift & Facials

What is PRP?

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is an injection treatment that uses the patient’s own blood. Approximately 30-60 mL’s of blood are drawn into a syringe. The blood is then spun twice in a centrifuge to separate the platelet rich plasma from the rest of the blood. The PRP is a solution containing concentrated platelets, growth factors and enzymes that promote healing and repair damaged tissue.

Are PRP injections safe?

Yes. PRP is an all-natural medical procedure

What is a Vampire Facial/Facelift?

In order for PRP to rejuvenate damaged skin, it must penetrate the dermis. This is done by either injecting the PRP directly under the skin with a small needle and/or by injecting it into the dermis by using a micro-needle device. The Vampire Facelift involves performing both of these procedures, whereas the Vampire Facial involves only the micro-needling portion.

Why is it called a Vampire Facial/Facelift?

Because it makes you look young forever (kidding!) This has been the recognizable nickname given to this procedure by Hollywood.

What are the benefits of a Vampire Facial/Facelift?

  • Improve skin texture
  • Reduce fine lines and wrinkles
  • Increase volume by increasing collagen and elastin
  • Improve scars, age spots, rosacea, uneven skin tone

What is the procedure like?

You will be evaluated by Dr. Kuhlman or Jodi Wilhelm, CNP to determine if you are a good candidate and to determine your specific injection sites. A small amount of blood will be drawn from your arm. While this blood is being converted to PRP in the centrifugation process, topical numbing cream will be applied to your face. If you opted for the Vampire Facelift, Dr. Kuhlman or Jodi will then inject about 8 mL of PRP directly under the skin with a small half inch needle into areas of the face that together you have decided would benefit you the most. This is immediately followed by a full face 20 minute micro-needle procedure that will produce microscopic holes in the skin to allow additional, topically applied PRP to penetrate into the dermis. If you choose the Vampire Facial, you will simply skip the needle injection portion of the procedure. The entire procedure takes about an hour.

Is the treatment comfortable?

There is minimal discomfort with the Vampire Facial, as a topical numbing cream is applied before the procedure. The Vampire Facelift involves an extra step where PRP is injected with a needle directly under the skin. This portion can cause burning for a few minutes.

Is there any downtime?

Mild redness and swelling should be expected for 1-2 days. We advise against sun exposure, intense exercise and exposing the treated area to skin irritants for two days post procedure. Most people can return to normal daily activities immediately after treatment. We recommend waiting until the next day to apply make-up.

How many treatments are required?

One treatment per year is recommended. It can be combined with other treatments such as Botox, dermal fillers, lasers, micro-needle, chemical peels, etc.

When will I see results?

Results are usually visible in 3 weeks and can last for 1-2 years.

How much does it cost?

$600 for the Vampire Facial and $1000 for the Vampire Facelift.
