Large plump lips give the impression of youth and sensuality. Lip enhancement is quickly becoming one of the most common non-surgical cosmetic procedures in the world.
A dermal filler is injected into the lips to provide a fuller, sexier look. Uneven and crooked lips can also be corrected.
After your consultation and all questions are answered, pictures will be taken. Your face is cleaned and numbing cream applied. A small 30 g needle and/or a cannula are used to inject the HA filler into the body of the lip, but also along the vermillion border, cupids bow and philtrum.
At Physical and Aesthetic Medicine, we only use hyaluronic acid fillers including Volbella, Juvederm, Kysse and Restylane for lip injections. This gives us the option of removing it with another medication if necessary.
The results are immediate and it will last up to a year
The lips are a sensitive area. Therefore, we apply numbing cream, and occasionally give a numbing injection. Additionally, all the HA fillers contain lidocaine, which allows for further anesthesia.
Temporary pain, bruising and swelling can occur. However, the main concern most people have is that their lips will not look natural or they will have “duck lips”. This is usually caused by receiving too much and improperly placed filler, especially in a person with naturally small lips. It is important to know that filler injections can only increase the size of your lips by one grade, so a person with small thin lips will never have huge lips without looking unnatural.
About $600 for 1cc of filler.
