Micro Dermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is the process of exfoliating, or removing dead skin cells from the skin.

A sterile handpiece is attached to a tubing system through which corundum crystals are propelled at a high speed across the skin surface, thus gently abrading the top layer of the skin.  This brings new skin cells to the surface, producing a brighter, clearer, more youthful appearance.

What is the Microdermabrasion used for?

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne
  • Dull, congested skin
  • Dry, flaky skin
  • Oily skin
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Sun damage
  • Scars

Is the treatment comfortable?

Ultrapeel microdermabrasion treatments are very comfortable.  Those with sensitive skin experience a mild scratching sensation at the beginning of the treatment.

Will I experience any downtime?

Microdermabrasion is often called the “lunchtime peel” because you can have a treatment in thirty minutes and immediately resume normal activities.  You may put on makeup following treatment.

Depending on the level of treatment you desire, a temporary light redness of the skin may appear at the end of the treatment, especially for sensitive skin types.

What results can I expect and how soon?

You skin should be smoother and have a more polished appearance after one session.  With additional treatments, you will see further softening of the skin, lightening of age spots and pigmented skin, and reduction in fine lines.

How many treatments should I receive?

One session will make your skin look and feel smoother.  Many people complete a series of three treatments scheduled two weeks apart, then continue one time per month or as needed for maintenance.

How much does it cost?

For a full facial microdermabrasion treatment, the cost is $90.
